CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Converse Track team broke six school records in the opening meet of the outdoor season at the Charlotte 49er Classic.
Dominique Hill broke the school record in the high jump and the triple jump. Deja Attaway broke the 100m dash record. Hannah Asselin broke the school record in the pole vault. Shakura Wesley broke the school record in the discus. Autumn Stone rounded out the record breaking performance with a school record in the 3000m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Deja Attaway broke the school record in the event with a time of 12.60. The record was held by former Valkyrie Brianna Mitchell since 2014.
Derian Cunningham led the way with the third fastest time in program history with a time of 26.30.
Lauren Morris finished 31st overall with a time of 2:25.13, just off her personal best. Jane Macsay posted the fourth best time in program history with a personal best time of 2:31.45. Hannah Taber also lowered her time with the eighth best time in program history clocking 2:51.36.
Lauren Morris ran just off her personal best with a time of 5:18.93.
Autumn Stone broke the school record in the event with a time of 11:11.02. The record was held by Casilda Ruiz since 2012.
Dominique Hill broke the school record in the event with a height of 5'1 (1.55m). Hill finished second in her flight.
Shakura Wesley shattered the discus school record with a heave of 121'6 (37.03m). The school record was held by Ariel Greene since 2014.
The Valkyries will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. on March 24 for the UNF Invite.
