Converse Track Continue Upward Trend At ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Converse Indoor Track and Field team finished day one of the East Tennessee State Invitational on Friday.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Weight Throw

Shakura Wesley broke her own school record in the event with a mark of 41'2.25" (12.55m).  She broke the school record in her first meet on December 3 with a mark of 39'6.5" (12.05m).

Jordan Cooksey continued to set a personal best in the event with a mark of 37'10.5" (11.55m) improving upon her throw of 36'9.5 (11.21m) in December.

Triple Jump

Sequoya Davis posted a mark of 31'6.75" (9.62m). Aileen Kovarik finished behind Davis with a mark of 31'2.5" (9.51m).

60m Hurdle Prelims

Rhabbi Hagger just missed out on the school record for the event posting a personal best time of 9.49 in the event.  The school record is 9.48 held by former Valkyrie Dez Cubero set in 2014.

60m Run

Rhabbi Hagger posted a time of 8.20. Ciera Richards finished with a time of 8.27.

200m

Derian Cunningham posted the fifth fastest time in program history with a personal best time of 27.36.

400m

Derian Cunningham led the way with a time of 1:04.55.  Jada Simmons posted the fifth fastest time with a mark of 1:04.89.

800m

Lauren Morris led the charge for the Valkyries with a time of 2:30.83.
