Davis Breaks Her Own School Records At JCSU Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-  The Converse track team finished their final tune-up of the outdoor season before the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational on Saturday.

Josie Davis continued to lower her times in the hurdle events breaking her own school records.  Davis started off the afternoon by breaking her school record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.59 shaving .07 off her previous best.  Davis continued on to break her own school record in the 400m hurdles taking .42 off her previous best clocking 1:09.69.

Jane Macsay performed a huge personal best in the 800m by taking 23 seconds off her previous best with a time of 2:39.63 moving to the third best time in program history.  Lauren Morris posted a time of 2:29.51 in the event.

Mikhala Cooper-Robinson posted a personal best in the 100m dash with a time of 12.81 (3rd best in program history). Jordan Harding finished just behind MCR by clocking a PR with 12.90.

Lauren Morris and Elizabeth Noland posted times of 1:01.96 and 1:03.49 in the 400m dash respectively.

Autumn Stone finished first in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:42.92 clearing the field by 30 seconds.

Savon Garrett finished 8th in the long jump with a mark of 16'2.5 while teammate Sequoya Davis cleared 15'4.

Jordan Cooksey finished 14th overall in the discus with a mark of 84'10.

Converse will take the next two weeks off the prepare for the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships hosted by Lees-McRae on April 29-30.
