BRISTOL, TENN.-  Converse tennis held a slight advantage 4-3 heading into the final two singles match of the contest but was unable to close the deal as King took the 5-4 Conference Carolinas match on Wednesday afternoon.

Converse (5-9, 1-5) started off the match sweeping doubles play.  Margaret Pridmore (Wodonga, Austraila) and Kaitlin Knight (Sumter, S.C.) battled at the number one doubles winning 8-6.  Alex Schlesener (Stone Mountain, Ga.) and Samantha Sheffield (Birmingham, Ala.) put the Valkyries up 2-0 with an 8-4 win at the second slot.

Taylor Littlejohn-Barr (York, S.C.) and Klaire Rouse (Gilbert, Ariz.) won the third doubles by default.

Converse was unable to finish off the match dropping five of the six singles matches.  Kaitlin Knight and Samantha Sheffield took their matches to a decisive set.
