Numerous Program Records Set as Converse Competes at SCAD Invite

SAVANNAH, GA – The Converse College swim team finished a grueling three-day meet at the annual SCAD Invite, hosted by the Savannah College of Arts and Design. During the 72-hour event the Valkyries faced top-tier competition from the Division II and NAIA levels. Overall the Purple and Gold posted 15 lifetime best performances as well as 11 program top-10 performances. Listed below are top performers for each day of the meet.

 

Day 1: 

200Medley Relay A team  (Lisa Studstill, Anna Pettus, Sarah Russell, Hannah Asselin) Finished 12th 1:52.82

 

800 Freestyle Relay A team (Sarah Russell, Anna Pettus, Cassidy Rindge, Lisa Studstill) finished 14th 8:18.24

 

Day 2:

400 IM Cassidy Rindge with a season best time of 4:58.82 finishing 20th overall

 

100 Fly Sarah Russell with a season best time of 57.13 finishing 5th overall

 

100 Breaststroke Lisa Marie Geisler with a lifetime best time of 1:10.34 finishing 22nd overall

 

100 Backstroke Lisa Studstill with a lifetime best time of 1:01.16 finishing 15th overall 

 

400 Medley Relay A team (Lisa Studstill, Lisa Marie Geisler, Sarah Russell, Hannah Asselin) finished 12th 4:07.00 out-touching conference foe Chowan by .02

 

Day 3:

200 Backstroke Lisa Studstill with a huge time drop for a lifetime best of 2:11.25 finishing 13h overall

 

100 Freestyle Sarah Russell with a lifetime best time of 54.45

 

200 Breaststroke Lisa Marie Geisler with a lifetime best time of 2:30.30 finishing 19th overall & Anna Pettus with a season best time of 2:33.76 finishing 24th overall

 

200 Fly Sarah Russell with a lifetime best time of 2:09.68 finishing 10th overall, finally breaking the 2:10 mark

 

1650 Freestyle Julia Campbell with a season best time of 19:39.78 finishing 18th overall & Kendall Polk with a season best time of 20:35.35 finishing 20th overall

 

400 Freestyle Relay A team (Lisa Studstill, Hannah Asselin, Kelly Ferguson, Sarah Russell) finished 13th overall with a time of 3:46.33. Lisa led the team off with a personal lifetime best time of 55.93
