HIGH POINT, N.C. – Senior attack Brittni Jones has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week as announced by the league today. This is Jones' first plaudit of the year.
Jones, a senior from Lees Summit, Mo., accounted for 18 points (17g, 1a), eight ground balls, eight draw controls and three caused turnovers for the Valkyries last week and led them to a 2-0 record. In a 20-6 win over Southern Wesleyan, she posted seven goals with five draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Jones best outing came in a tightly contested game against Barton, as she netted 10 goals and an assist with five ground balls and three draws. Her 10th goal proved to be the winner in a 16-15 contest, which locked up the No. 6 seed for Converse in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Championship.
Jones currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in goals (72), while ranking third in points (74).
