MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Converse Lacrosse team was handed a 26-2 Conference Carolinas loss by Mount Olive on Sunday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

Laura Starkes and Elizabeth Gabriele netted a goal each in the loss.  Aubrie Lauderdale and Kasey Halodik tallied an assist.

Tyra Murray led the Valkyries with four ground balls, while Hadiyah Lewis added three ground balls.

Myka Jones recorded nine saves in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Mount Olive jumped out to an early 9-0 lead midway through the first half.  Elizabeth Gabriele netted the first goal for the Valkyries to stop the run off the pass from Aubrie Lauderdale.

UMO led 13-1 at the break.  The Trojans continued to score in the second half widening their lead to 22-1 with the running clock.

Laura Starkes found the back of the net off the assist from Kasey Halodik.

The Trojans ended the contest with four more goals to take the 26-2 victory.

Converse will look to right the ship on Friday, April 7 against Barton at home.  Opening draw is at 5pm.
