Converse Finishes Seventh At 2018 Conference Championship


SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Converse College golf team concluded the 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championship with a seventh-place finish overall after dropping one position following day two. The Valkyries added seven strokes to their score, finishing the final round with a team total of 343 (+55).

Junior Tyler Dawson was the top finisher for the Purple and Gold after totaling an 85 (+13). Her three day total of 243 (+27) was good enough for 16th-place tie. Marisa Daquil Kawabe made the biggest stride for the Valkyries, posting an 82 (+10) during her third round, shaving four strokes from her day two total. Daquil finished in a tie for 31st while teammate Vienna Winalski finished tied for 33rd following a three-day total of 254 (+38).

Grace Magera (255, +39) and Megan Dresser (258, +42) concluded the tournament in 35th and 37th places, respectively.

Limestone College took home the 2018 championship after leading the field all three days, finishing with a 918 (+54), while Victoria Ross of the Saints outlasted the field en route to an individual win.
