KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Converse College golf team finished the final round of the Barton Invitational in 13th place on Sunday afternoon at Oak Point Golf Club. After firing a day one total of 341 (+53) the Valkyries added five strokes to that total (346, +58) during day two action.
Tyler Dawson was the top finisher for the Purple and Gold after a 36-hole total of 163 (+19), good enough for a 30th-place tie. Vienna Winalski finished in a tie for 59th, but was able to shave seven strokes from her first round score, shooting 83 (+11) during the second 18.
Taylor Fisk stayed true to form on the links, posting an 87 (+15) to place in a tie with Winalski, while teammates Grace Magera and Bethany Thornbury (93, +21) captured 68th and 75th-place, respectively.
Florida Southern finished the 36 holes with a team total of 619 to take home the team honors, while UNC Pembroke's Madison Conley finished the two day event shooting a plus-4, 148 to earn individual honors.
The Valkyries will be back in action on February 19-20 as they host the annual Converse Spring Invite.
