BRISTOL, TENN. – The Converse golf team put together a solid final round in the King University Invitational, picking up a second place finish during the 36-hole event. The Valkyries picked up one stroke (318) from its first day total to finish with a two-day combined total of 637 (+69).
Carson-Newman sat atop the leaderboard on both days, finishing the tournament with a team total of 616 (+48), while host King University finished in third after firing a two-round total of 641 (+73). Elizabeth England of C-N took home the individual title after shooting a 146 (+4) over the two rounds.
Vienna Winalski placed eighth to lead the Purple and Gold, pacing Converse with a total of 156 (+14) after a second round of 79 (+8). Tyler Dawson and Grace Magera finished in a tie for 10th with total of 158 (+16). Taylor Fisk shot a 168 (+24) to come in 28th, while Grace McEachern (178, +34) took 12 strokes off her first day total, firing an 83 in the closing round to finish in 33rd.
The Valkyries will be back in action on October 16-17 as they travel to compete in the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.
