HIGH POINT, N.C. – Converse's Marley Felthousen headlines the 2016-17 Conference Carolinas women's golf awards as she was voted the 2016-17 Conference Carolinas Women's Golfer of the Year. Matilda Wahren of University of Mount Olive was honored as the Freshman of the Year. Limestone College's Zack Sierfert rounded out the major awards, being named the Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Coach of the Year, the conference announced tonight.
Marley Felthousen becomes Converse's first ever Player of the Year selection after a stellar senior campaign. Felthousen produced a career best 76.95 stroke average with one individual medalist, three top-five finishes, and eight top-10 finishes. She is the first Converse golfer to be selected to the Conference Carolinas all-conference list four straight years.
Felthousen receives her Conference Carolinas All-Conference First Team selection to go with her two Second Team selections (2014-2015) and a Third Team selecton (2016).
The senior produced three Conference Carolinas Bi-Monthly Golfer of the Month selections this season.
Converse Golf team will hit the course on Sunday, April 23 for the first of three rounds of the Conference Carolinas Golf Championships. The Valkyries have finished third the past three seasons.
