Valkyries Golf Saves Best Round In Tournament Final

MELBOURNE, FLA. - The Converse Golf team finishes in fifth place after three rounds of the Lady Panther Invitational hosted by Florida Institute of Technology on Tuesday with a final round total of 317.

The tournament features No. 6 St. Leo, No. 7 Florida Tech, No. 8 Nova Southeastern, as well as, No. 2 Seminole State (NJCAA) in the top-25 Golfstat rankings.

Marley Felthousen led the Valkyries in the final round with a score of 75 (+3).  The senior was even on the back nine with a birdie on the front and back. Felthousen finished in 17th overall.

Tyler Dawson posted a tournament best round of 77 (+5) improving six strokes from round two. Dawson secured 24th place.

Megan Dresser closed out the final round with a score of 82 (+10) posting a birdie on the back nine. Dresser finished in 34th.

Ansley Vaughan carded an 83 (+11) consistent with her round one score. Vaughan also posted a birdie on the front nine. Miranda Juarez improves four strokes from her first round posting an 86 in the final.

The Lady Panther Invitational is the last tournament before Conference Carolinas competition for the Valkyries and the last career tournament for seniors Marley Felthousen, Ansley Vaughan, and Miranda Juarez.


Converse will participate in the Conference Carolinas Golf Championships on April 23-25, 2017 at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.  The Valkyries have finished third each of the last three years at the Conference Carolinas Golf Championships.
