SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse Golf Team produced a season-low 309 in the final round of the Converse Spring Invite by Founders Federal Credit Union at Carolina Country Club on Tuesday to win the tournament by four strokes over round one leader King.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Marley Felthousen continued her stellar play from the opening round to win the tournament by one stroke with a final round 76. Felthousen shot 73 yesterday for a tournament score of 149. In her round, she posted two birdies and 12 pars.
Tyler Dawson came in low for the Valkyries with a career-low final round of 74. Dawson shot 89 in the opening round. Dawson posted three birdies and 12 pars to shoot 37-37.
Megan Dresser finished just outside the top-ten with a 12th place finish posting a 78 in the final round after an opening round 79. Dresser posted back-to-back birdies on hole seven and eight to shoot two-under on the front nine.
Ansley Vaughan rounded out the scoring for the Valkyries with an 81. Vaughan opened the tournament with a 79.
Grace Magera finished with a final round of 88.
On the Converse 'B' team, Miranda Juarez posted the low round in the final round with an 84. Marisa Daquil-Kawabe shot low for the 'B' team with a tournament score of 167. Daquil-Kawabe finished with a round of 87. Grace McEachern shot 88.
Converse will participate in the Pfeiffer Invitational at Hilton Head Lakes on March 6-7.
