Valkyries Golf In Contention After Opening Round At Home

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse Golf team sits in third after the opening round 318 of the Converse Spring Invite by Founders Federal Credit Union on Monday at Carolina Country Club.

Conference Carolinas foe King leads the tournament with a score of 315, while Lincoln Memorial sit in second with a score of 316.

INSIDE THE SCORECARD

Marley Felthousen leads the tournament with a one over 73.  The senior posted 13 pars and two birdies.  Felthousen was even at the turn and posted a 37 on the back.

Ansley Vaughan and Megan Dresser posted 79s to keep the Valkyries in contention.  Vaughan posted 10 pars and one birdie on her way to a tie for 19th.  Dresser also sits tied for 19th after eight pars and two birdies.

Grace Magera rounded out the scoring for the Valkyries with an 87.  Tyler Dawson carded an 89 for the final spot on the 'A' team.

Marisa Daquil-Kawabe led the Converse 'B' with an opening round 80.  Grace McEachern and Vienna Winalski posted 84-85 respectively.

Elaina Smith rounded out the scoring for the 'B' squad with an 88.  Miranda Juarez finished with a 92.

The Converse 'B' team sits tied for 13th with a round of 337.

FINAL ROUND

Converse will finish the final round of the Converse Spring Invite with a shotgun start at 10am.
