Converse Moves Up To Ninth In Final Round

HARDEEVILLE, S.C.- The Valkyries golf team moved up two spots in the field of 16 teams in the final round of the Hilton Head Lakes Tournament hosted by Pfeiffer University on Tuesday.

Alex Bruce (Walton, Ky.) improved her score by five strokes in the final round to move into a tie for 19th.  Bruce finished with a final round 75 for a tournament 155.

Ansley Vaughan (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) dropped five strokes off her score to shoot an 80.  Marley Felthousen (Kitty Hawk, N.C.) and Allie McCain (Lancaster, S.C.) shot 81s in the final round.  Felthousen finished with a 162 while McCain finished with 167.

Samantha McMillin (Inman, S.C.) also dropped five strokes off her score rebounding from a 91 in round one to shoot 86.

The Valkyries finished with the sixth best round on day two after a final round 317.

Mount Olive took home the team title edging out Armstrong Stats by two strokes.

Converse returns to the course on March 20-21 when they compete in the Wingate Bulldog Challenge.  The Valkyries claimed the runner-up spot in last season's competition.
