Valkyries Finish Strong At Wofford Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The Converse Golf team rebounded in the final round of the Wofford Invitational posting a round of 323 to finish ninth overall with Converse being the only non-Division I program.  Converse finished behind USC Upstate at the very demanding Country Club of Spartanburg.

Freshman Tyler Dawson finished tied for 25th after firing a final round 76.  Dawson posted two birdies and 11 pars in her round.  Dawson shot even pay on the front nine of the course.

Freshman Megan Dresser shot 81 in the final round posting two birdies and eight pars.

Marley Felthousen was tripped up in her first couple of holes but rebounded with nine pars in her final 10 holes.

Allie McCain and Ansley Vaughan shot 83s in the final round to round out the scoring for the Valkyries.  McCain posted nine pars, while Vaughan posted eight pars and added a birdie.

Converse will look to turn things around next week, October 26-27 as the Valkyries host the Converse Founders Federal Credit Union Fall Invitational at the Carolina Country Club.
