Converse Golf Finishes Runner-Up In Shortened Tourney

BRISTOL, TENN.-  The Converse Golf Team finished Runner-Up at the King Invite after the second round was cancelled due to weather.  This is the second tournament in a row the Valkyries have finished second.

Converse shot 312 in the first round which allowed them to take home the runner-up trophy.  Mount Olive finished one stroke behind the Valkyries.  Pfeiffer took home the team title after shooting low on Monday at 302.

Marley Felthousen (Kitty Hawk, N.C.) led the way for the Valkyries finishing fifth and making the all-tournament team.  Felthousen finished with a 76 (+5).

Allie McCain (Lancaster, S.C.) and Tyler Dawson (Woodstock, Ga.) finished tied for eighth after shooting 78s.

Freshman Grace Magera (Simpsonville, S.C.) rounded out the scoring for the Valkyries, tied for 14th after an 80 in her first collegiate round.  

Samantha McMillin (Inman, S.C.) carded an 82 and finished 18th overall.

The field is comprised of Conference Carolinas teams: Pfeiffer (302), Converse (312), Mount Olive (313), host King (315), Erskine (329), North Greenville (333), and Barton (372).

Mount Olive's Julie Loennechen took home the individual title firing off a one-under 70.
