Valkyries Golf Releases 2015-16 Schedule

The Converse Valkyries Golf Program and head coach Patti McGowan releases its upcoming 2015-16 schedule featuring five fall tournaments and six spring tournaments.  Three of those tournaments are in the Spartanburg area.

The Valkyries are coming off a third place finish at the Conference Carolinas Golf Championships heading into the 2015 fall slate.  Converse opens the fall season at Conference Carolinas foe, Barton, competing in the Cutter Creek Invitational in Snow Hill, N.C. Sept 7-8.  The Purple and Gold will then head to Bristol, Tenn. to participate in the King University Invitational to wrap up the month of September.

Converse will travel to Salisbury, N.C. to defend their title at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba on October 12 and 13.  Converse placed first out of 15 programs shooting the second lowest round scores in program history.

The final two events of the fall campaign will remain in Spartanburg, as the Valkyries will compete in the Wofford Invitational Oct 19-20 at the Spartanburg Country Club followed by wrapping up the fall season with the Converse Fall Invite, sponsored by Founders Federal Credit Union, at the Carolina Country Club Oct 26-27.

The spring campaign opens with the Valkyries heading to Kiawah Island hosted by Tusculum on Feb. 6-7.  The Valkyries will host the Converse Spring Invite, sponsored by Founders FCU, Feb. 22-23.  Converse placed third in the tournament last season in a weather shortened event.

Then, Converse travels to Hilton Head Lakes Invitational, hosted by Pfeiffer, on March 7-8 to compete in a Conference Carolinas Championship preview.

The Valkyries will wrap up the month of March at the Wingate Bulldog Intercollegiate, March 20-21.  Following the WBI, Converse wraps up the regular season with the Agnes Memorial Invitational April 4-5 before heading to the Conference Carolinas Championships at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C. on April 17-19 for a 54-hole tournament.
