HIGH POINT, N.C. – Junior guard Brianna James has been named to the 2018 Conference Carolinas All-Conference Second Team as announced by the league office today. James, who was named to the third team last season, becomes the first Valkyrie to earn second team honors. She is also the first player from Converse to be tabbed to the all-conference team in back-to0back years.
Hailing from Wellford, S.C., James was once again a catalyst for a team that set numerous records during the 2018 season, including most wins (9) and most conference wins (5). Brianna averaged just under 16 points per game (15.8) while grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game, both of which were team highs.
James scored in double-figures in 19-of-26 contests, including a program record 36 points on January 20 versus King. She eclipsed the 30-point plateau twice on the season and tallied a double-double on five different occasions.
James now ranks in the top-10 in several categories for the Valkyries, including 2nd in career points (1,229) and field goals made (405), 4th in three pointers made (115), and 7th in field goal percentage (.372).
