SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse College basketball team has announced that the contest with Puerto Rico-Bayamon scheduled for Wednesday, November 15 will also double as a relief effort to help with recovery after the mass amounts of severe weather faced over the past month.
The Valkyrie students will have tables set up where kids can get their faces painted as well as mini games during halftime of the contest. All money received for these will go directly to the Puerto Rico fund. In addition to this the basketball team will give all entry fee money raised directly towards the relief efforts as well. The Student Government Association will be selling concessions along with t-shirts to help raise as much money as possible.
Donation stations will be set up around the gym for anyone that feels the need to give. All students that are allowed into the game for free are encouraged to help support the effort with any donation.
