Walsh Announces 2017-18 Recruiting Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Head Coach Dean Walsh announces his 2017-18 recruiting class during the signing period.  The class features 10 players from South Carolina, one from Virginia and one from Texas.

Jordan Brooks 5-6 Guard San Angelo, Texas Lake View High School

 

Jordan averaged 24.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 4.0 assists per game. She averaged 29.6 points per game in district play. Brooks finished in the top-10 in the state in scoring and top

100 in the nation.  Jordan scored over 45 points on three occasions this year setting school and city records including a 47 point effort in the San Angelo Tournament. For her career, Brooks averaged 17.4 points, 3.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.5 steals. For her efforts, this season she has been named All-State, All-West Texas MVP, All-Region, All-District, and FCA All Star selection. Jordan is a four-time All-District and three-time All-West Texas Super Team selection.

 

Ta'Nauziah Corley 5-10 Forward Wagener, S.C.  Aiken High School

"T" averaged 8.0 point and 8.0 rebounds per game in her only season at Aiken. While at Wagener-Salley HS she averaged 16.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game for her career. Corley was named All-State and two time All-Aiken Standard Banner.

 

 

 

 

 

Nigeria Davis 5-10 Forward Newberry, S.C.  Newberry High School

Nigeria averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and over 2.0 steals per game. Davis for her efforts was selected Region Player of the Year, All-State, and for the North Carolina/ South Carolina All Star game. Nigeria scored over a 1000 points in her career and was a four time All-Region selection and a two time All-State selection.



 

 

 

 

 

 

Olivia Felton 5-7 Guard Aiken, S.C.  Aiken High School

Olivia will be joining teammate Ta'Nauziah Corley next season. This past season Olivia averaged 8.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. Felton was named All-Region and All-Tournament. Olivia is actively involved in FCA and church ministry and is a member of Beta Club.



 

 

 


Tori Henderson 5-7 Guard Greer, S.C.Greer High School

Tori averaged 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game while shooting 51% from the field. She led the team in charges drawn, jump balls forced and deflections. Tori also holds the school record with 11 steals in a game. She is a three time Defensive Player of the Year selection. Tori is a two time All-County and two-time All-Region selection. Henderson was selected for the FCA All Star game and was named MVP of the Greenville squad.


 

 

Taylor Morneault 5-6 Guard Clover, S.C. Clover High School

Taylor averaged 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 4.4 steals per game. Taylor was named All-Tournament and the received hustle award. Morneault is a Merit Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society. Taylor was also a starter on the 2015 Softball 4A State Championship Team.



 

 


Marshea Murray 6-0 Forward Greer, S.C. Greer High School

Marshea joins teammate Tori Henderson from Greer High School. "Shea" averaged 10.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 blocked shots per game. Murray holds the school record for rebounds in a season with 211. Marshea for her efforts was selected to the South Carolina North/South All Star game and the FCA All Star game. She is a two time All-County and a two-time All-Region performer. Marshea was named to the All-Upstate First Team.



 


 

Jazmyne Nelson 5-8 Forward Spartanburg, S.C. Dorman High School

Jazmyne averaged 6.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. Nelson, who will be joining teammate Jasmine Webb, was selected All-Region and to the FCA All Star game and was named MVP of the Spartanburg squad.

 

 

 

 

 

Lindsey Rogers 5-5 Guard Dalzell, S.C. Crestwood High School

Lindsey averaged 7.0 points, 8.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. Rogers is a three-time All-Region selection and led her team to four region championships and two upper state championships.



 

 

 

 

 

 

Ashley Sides 5-9 Guard Gaffney, S.C. Oakbrook Prep Academy

Ashley averaged 19.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game. For her efforts this season Sides was selected All-State and All-Region. She was also selected to the Georgia/South Carolina All Star game, the East/West All Star game, and the FCA All Star game. As a junior Ashley was selected Region Player of the year and the SCISA 2A State Player of the Year. Sides is a three-time All-Region and All-State selection as well as a two-time All-Upstate team selection. Sides scored over 1000 points in her three-year career at Oakbrook Prep.

 


 

Rebecca Travis 6-0 Forward Stephens, Va.  Sherando High School

Becca averaged 8.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 75% from the line and over 34% from beyond the arc. Travis is a member of the National Honor Society, of the Virginia DECA Honor Society, and placed in the top 10 at the Virginia State DECA competition.



 

 

 

 

 

Jasmine Webb 5-11 Forward Spartanburg, S.C. Dorman High School

Jasmine averaged 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.1 blocked shots per game while shooting 51% from the field. Webb was named Region Player of the Year, All-State, and selected to the South Carolina North/South All Star game as well as the FCA All Star game. Jasmine was also named to the All-Upstate First Team.
