SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Behind a career-high by Hannah Anderson, the Converse Basketball team defeated the Pfeiffer Falcons in Conference Carolinas action on Tuesday evening, 81-73.

Hannah Anderson posted a career-high 17 points on 8-16 from the floor. Anderson hauled in a team-high eight boards. Brianna James led the Valkyries with 27 points with 14 coming from the stripe. James also added eight rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Converse started off the contest on a roll jumping out to an early 12-2 lead. Hannah Anderson started the run with a layup inside. After a Pfeiffer bucket, Paige Johnson gave the Valkyries the lead knocking down a triple. Hannah Anderson connected once again from the floor.
Pfeiffer would not go away quietly going on an 8-2 run to cut it to a 14-10 contest. Brianna James hit a layup during the spurt.
Tatum Boggs ended the quarter with five points connecting on a three and a jumper.
Converse led 23-15 after the first 10 minutes of action.
Kassidy Moorhouse kept the scoring rolling in the second quarter knocking down her lone triple of the night. Converse would extend their lead back out to double-figures with Hannah Anderson hitting a jumper and Brianna James hitting two from the stripe.
Pfeiffer would cut the deficit to six, 32-26 midway through the quarter before Brianna James connected from deep. Pfeiffer would answer on the next possession.
The Valkyries led 43-32 at intermission.
Keocia Walker would give the Valkyries a spark after grabbing the rebound and pushing up the floor. Walker found Abigail Lewis for a layup after the behind the back dish to Lewis. Walker gave Converse their largest lead of the contest at the 5:34 mark of the quarter at 55-39 after knocking down two from the line.
Pfeiffer ended the quarter strong to cut the deficit to five, 58-53, heading into the final quarter.
Pfeiffer came out of the break scoring five straight points to knot things at 58-all forcing a timeout by the Valkyries.
The Falcons would gain the lead at the 7:02 mark at 61-59 after a made three, but the lead would not last for Pfeiffer as Keocia Walker handed Converse the lead back with a trey of her own 25 seconds later.
The Valkyries would ice the contest going 6-8 from the stripe down the stretch.
