MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Trailing by two points heading into the final quarter, the Converse Basketball team was unable to fight off the late surge by Pfeiffer in a Conference Carolinas clash on the road Saturday evening, falling 69-60.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams battled back and forth throughout the quarter while Pfeiffer gained the 16-13 edge after 10 minutes.
Pfeiffer went on a 6-0 run to lead 16-10 before Erin Horne hit a three for the final basket of the quarter.
Pfeiffer would extend their lead to 19-13, before Keocia Walker went on a 5-0 run alone. Walker knocked down a trey and two from the stripe to cut the deficit to 19-18.
Keocia Walker would tie things up later in the quarter connecting on two from the stripe.
After a triple by the Falcons, Erin Horne would answer with a trey on the other end. Brianna James would give the Valkyries their first lead of the quarter, 28-26, with a jumper and extended the Valkyries' lead with a triple on the next posession.
Pfeiffer answered the trey with a three of their own as Converse led 31-29 heading into the locker room.
Converse and Pfeiffer would exchange leads and baskets for the rest of the quarter. Tiffani Riggen knocked down a triple from the wing with 23 seconds left. Pfeiffer led 51-47 heading into the final stanza.
Pfeiffer opened the quarter on an 8-3 lead to give them a 59-50 cushion. Dominique Hill connected from distance during the run.
Midway through the quarter, Pfeiffer extended their lead to double-figures after a triple. Keocia Walker would score the final four points for the Valkyries from the stripe.
Pfeiffer would take the 69-60 victory.
Converse travels to North Greenville on Wednesday, February 15 for a Conference Carolinas battle. Tip-off is at 5:30pm.
