Acro and Tumbling Improves to 2-0 With Win Over Glenville State

GEORGETOWN, S.C. - The Converse College acro and tumbling team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a victory over Glenville State College on Friday evening. Georgetown College also participated in the meet but counted the competition as an exhibition. The Valkyries were able to win five of six events on the night to take home the 256.770-247.440 victory.

The competition remained very close at the end of the compulsory event as Converse held a minimal 31.20-31.10 lead over Glenville. During the acro event the Purple and Gold was able to gain a bit of breathing room with the 1.25-point win (25.50-24.25).

GSC was able to close the gap after taking the pyramid event by the score of 27.80-26.60, but Converse captured wins in the toss and tumbling events to send the close meet into the team competition. During the team event the Valkyries sealed the win with the dominant 96.07-88.89 score, running their record to 2 wins and 0 losses during the inaugural campaign.

Converse will be back in action on Tuesday, February 27 as it performs in front of the home crowd for the first time, hosting Gannon University. The meet is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in Hannah Gymnasium.
