SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head coach Keegan Johnson and the Converse Acrobatics and Tumbling team have announced a thrilling inaugural schedule on Tuesday, September 26. Competing for the first time in the sport, the Valkyries will have four road matches as well as four home meets, including hosting Division I Baylor University.
"I am so excited to begin our inaugural season in the NCATA", said Coach Keegan. "Our goal as a first year team is to be highly competitive against each team we compete against. The strength of our schedule will allow us to push ourselves and grow from meet to meet. Our athletes are extremely driven and excited to make history for Converse Acrobatics and Tumbling. Go Valkyries!"
The Purple and Gold will kick off their initial season with a trip to Bristol, Tenn. on February 11, meeting up with King University for a dual meet before traveling to Georgetown College on February 16 to participate in a tri-meet with the Tigers and Glenville State College.
On February 27 Converse will be able to showcase its talents in front of a home crowd for the first time in program history as Gannon University will visit Spartanburg. Just over a week later (Mar. 7) the Bears of Baylor University will be in town for a dual meet against the Valkyries before Converse rounds out a three-match home stand against Georgetown College on March 17.
The Valkyries will be on the road the next two meets, traveling to West Virginia on March 24 to take on Fairmont State University prior to taking their talents to the west coast, facing off against Azusa Pacific University on April 5. An April 11 home meet against King will lead into the NCATA National Championships, hosted by Gannon University on April 26-28.
