Blake Scribner enters his fifth year with the Valkyries as the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
In his role, Scribner is responsible for designing and implementing programs for all 11 NCAA teams, one Non-NCAA team and supervising the day-to-day operation of the Strength and Conditioning Department. He was also in charge of designing the Strength and Conditioning Facility in the Marsha Gibb’s Field house.
In five years with the Valkyries, his efforts have helped produce a regular season conference title (soccer 2014), three Conference of the year athletes, and two top-20 nationally ranked swimmers.
Scribner also served as a Stack Velocity Sports Performance Coach with the Spartanburg Regional Sports Medicine Institute.
Prior to Converse, Scribner spent four years with the YMCA where he directed all wellness operations, designed strength programs for the Y-Spartaquatics Swim Team (2013 Long Course National Champions) and worked with over 15 collegiate signee’s and two professional athletes.
Scribner earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science from USC Upstate in 2009. While in school he interned with The Steadman Hawkins Medical Clinic and Proaxis Therapy, where he specialized his studies in the surgical and rehabilitation of shoulders, knees and ankles.
He is currently certified by USA Weightlifting as a Sports Performance Coach, American College of Sports Medicine and Functional Movement Systems, and Certified Specialist in Strength and Conditioning (SSC) through the International Sports Science Association.
